COMMUNICATIONS & ADVOCACY STRATEGY

This communication and Advocacy strategy is a vehicle through which our Society, Zambia Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (ZAGO) will undertake the implementation of the WHO Guidelines on Self-Managed Abortion, “The Zambia Medical Self-Managed Abortion Care” project, to run from June 2023 – June 2024. We are excited that in partnership with the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), ZAGO has been recognized to implement this very important project aimed at further contributing to the reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality which currently stand at 278/100, 000 live births. Zambia’s goal is to reduce this to less than 70/100, 000 live births by 2030.
