The AMPLI-PPHI (Accelerating Measurable Progress and Leveraging Investments for Postpartum Hemorrhage Impact) project is now in Zambia, being implemented by ZAGO and JHPIEGO. The project focuses on generating evidence and learning, creating an enabling environment, and preparing for increased uptake of Heat Stable Carbetocin (HSC), Tranexamic Acid (TXA), and Drapes. ZAGO is determined to contribute to the reduction of maternal deaths caused by PPH. More details about the project here.

  • The self-managed abortion project implementation in Zambia has demonstrated significant findings in terms of accessibility, safety, and empowerment for women. It has been proved that by providing comprehensive information and resources about self-managed abortion, ZAGO has facilitated through the project greater autonomy for women and girls regarding their reproductive health. Key outcomes included increased awareness to accessing self-managed abortion care, reduced stigma and discrimination, and improved health-seeking behaviours among women and girls. The project has contributed to a more informed and supported approach to reproductive rights in the country, paving the way for future project aimed at enhancing women’s health and autonomy. More details here.

The International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) featured ZAGO’s Self-managed Medical Abortion Advocacy (SMAA) project in its monthly newsletter of November 2023. The article highlights extensively project implementation achievements for the last six months. Read full article here
