The Zambia Association of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (ZAGO) attach great importance to the role mentorship plays in facilitating knowledge transfer in health facilities. The Association believes that to enhance provision of healthcare service in the country, there’s need to invest resources in mentorship programs as an ongoing learning system in order to strengthen and sharpen skills. Thus, it is of great essence to build support, education, and personal development between mentors and mentees for greater productivity, career satisfaction, and personal happiness.
The study reveals that the unmet need for modern contraceptive methods, lack of information [knowledge] that abortion [in Zambia] is legal, and regional differences in the CAC provision could have contributed to unsafe abortion.
“The objectives of the SafeChoices Campaign include among others: raise awareness about the problem of Early Unintended Pregnancies (EUP) and unsafe abortions in the country; create awareness and bring attention on the need to scale up youth friendly SRHR services for adolescents and young people; and to create opportunities to secure more partnerships for the campaign and for further addressing the issue of EUP and unsafe abortions,” the ZAGO M&E reiterates.
